Russian Special Envoy Meets With Speaker of Palesttinian Parliament

DAMASCUS–Chairman of the Legislative Council of Palestine Rafik al-Natche assessed highly Russia’s stance on the Palestinian problem.

As the WAFA agency has reported, the speaker of the Palestinian parliament said about this at a Sunday meeting with special envoy of the Russian foreign ministry to the Middle East Alexander Kalugin. The meeting took place in the city of Al Bira in the residence of the Palestinian parliament.

Rafik Natche stressed that Russia’s position was always built on the basis of law, justice and peace. According to him, the Palestinians highly value Russia’s approach to the Middle East problem.

In his turn the Russian diplomat said that Russia maintained permanent ties with all interested sides – participants in the Middle-East peace process. He noted that Russia was preparing for a meeting of the four international mediators and for a meeting of the donor-states in Rome scheduled for December.
