Two Policemen and a Serviceman Wounded in Bombings in Chechnya
GROZNY,
March 21 – (RIA Novosti). Two policemen have been wounded in the
bombing of a truck column in Chechnya, reported the Chechen interior
ministry.
"The
bombing took place yesterday at 14.00 one km from the populated
area Lermontov-Yurt, Achkhoi-Martan district, as a Ural truck
with OMON special police force from the Vladimir region was heading
for the border check-point for replacement," said the agency’s
interlocutor.
In his words,
a home-made remote-control device was planted on the road side.
As a result of the blast, two policemen have been wounded. Medical
aid was given to them on the spot.
On the same
day, a contract serviceman in Chechnya hit a home-made mine.
"A home-made
clamp-action explosive device went off yesterday 9 a.m. near the
populated area Gansolchu, Nozhai-Yurt district, as the servicemen
of the commandant’s company of the Russian defense ministry were
conducting reconnaissance- search activities ," reported
the Regional Operations Staff on Control over the Counter-Terrorist
Operation in the North Caucasus. As a result, a private who serves
on contract has been wounded and hospitalized.
