Geneva Book Fair Highlights

GENEVA (RIA Novosti) — Russia has been invited as a guest of honor to the 2007 International Book Fair in Geneva, the organizers say. Italy was the guest honor at this year’s show. Among the highlights of the nineteenth Geneva Book Fair, there was a display of African books and periodicals and an exhibit commemorating Napoleon’s Egypt campaign. As part of the fair, RIA Novosti staged a photographic show devoted to the 60th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in the Second World War.

Some 104,000 people visited the 2005 Geneva Book Fair, which ran for five days, the organizers report.

Next year, the fair will be celebrating its 20th anniversary.
