The More, The Merrier
On DVD – One of the greatest gems to ever come out of old Hollywood and arguably one of the least remembered is the classic romantic comedy from 1943 “The More The Merrier” starring Jean Arthur, Joel McCrea, and Charles Coburn. This delightful story takes place at the time of the severe housing shortage in Washington D.C. during WWII and follows the adventures of a tightly wound and endlessly structured young secretary named Connie Milligan (Jean Arthur) who feels it’s her patriotic duty to rent out the extra room in her apartment to help with the housing problem and the two surprising potential roommates (Joel McCrea and Charles Coburn) who come into her life as a result.

This summer, movie-goers have been treated to a side of Batman not seen since the old comic book days.

Wasabi
There has always been a dash of Asian chic in French action auteur Luc Besson’s highly stylized visions, though only recently has he openly embraced Asian talent, settings and themes. This has yet to manifest itself in his work as a director, but as a producer/writer it has become an increasingly prevalent fixation, as seen in such efforts as "Yamakasi" and "The Transporter," directed by longtime Jet Li collaborator Corey Yuen. Neither of these films, however, quite find the same endearingly offbeat balance as does "Wasabi," arguably the best script that Besson has written in years…

Remembering the Heroes of
9-11: United Flight 93, a Masterpiece
Director Paul Greengrass’ career has skyrocketed in recent years with him directing the last two Jason Bourne films in the highly successful action franchise. Now, with rumors that he’ll be directing another Bourne film, it seems like a good time to look at one of the best, but now lesser known, highlights in Greengrass’ filmography.
The directors’ best film to date, a movie that received a lot of publicity at the time but is now hardly mentioned, is the 2006 documentary-style drama "United 93". United 93 is the harrowing true story of the events that took place on the fourth plane hijacked on September 11, 2001. (Full Review)
