USA Discuss Energy Cooperation
MOSCOW
(RIA Novosti) – Minister of Industry and Energy Victor Khristenko
and the US Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow held talks
in Moscow at the United States’ suggestion. They touched upon
questions of energy cooperation between the two countries, reported
the press service of the ministry on Friday.
"During
the talks there were discussed questions of status for projects
of top priority, included into the Camp David list of questions
on energy, Russian-American Commercial Energy Dialogue (RACED)
questions, exporting pipelines and ratification of the mutual
threat decreasing treaties," says the statement.
The US Ambassador
to Russia also touched upon the cooperation in the sphere of space
exploration, "climate" for foreign investments into
the Russian energy sector and the Camp David initiative on the
agreements about the protection of technologies, says the press
release.
The sides
stressed the importance of the natural gas and hydrogen fuel projects
and discussed the opportunities of further investments into those
projects.
Khristenko
and Vershbow came to agreement on the necessity of working out
design and construction accords concerning further increase of
Caspian pipeline capacity, says the statement.
